Blues U. Previews Chicago Blues Festival with
Spring
2001 Blues Club Tour

Blues University celebrates its tenth anniversary year on the Southside, Westside, and Downtown, with the Spring 2001 Blues Club Tour, a mini-festival of live blues music coordinated in conjunction with the Mayor's Office of Special Events, as part of the official month of May events leading up to the Chicago Blues Festival.

The tour includes all cover charges and shuttle bus transportation between 6 live blues clubs for one ticket price all night long on Friday, May 11th. The tour features an advance party with acoustic blues at Blue Chicago, 736 N. Clark Street, from 7 to 8 p.m. Buses begin boarding after 8 p.m., and continue shuttling until 1:30 a.m. Ticketholders will receive maps and schedules of the continuous shuttle routes before boarding. Advance ticket purchase is recommended, although limited tickets will be available on the night of the tour. Tickets are available through the Blues University website, http://www.bluesu.com, for $20 each, with discounts for Blues U. members (memberships are also available through the site). For further information on ticket availability, discounts, and memberships, as well as performer updates, visit the website, email tours@bluesu.com, or call the Blues University Blues Line at 773-772-5506.

The Blues Tour offers blues fans and newbies alike an opportunity to sample a wide variety of venues and entertainers, including one brand-new club, several established venues, and some old favorites, including some outlying lounge venues, without the hassle of driving or parking, at a low cost.

Blues U. Members not only get blues club tour ticket discounts, but discounts throughout the year at many retail, hotel, restaurant and club locations that participate in the Blues U. Network.
